Testing Students with Accommodations and Learning Plans

Testing Students with Accommodations and Learning Plans

General Options

  1. Accommodation students can be tested in the same Class Testing Section as their classmates, or in a separately created accommodation testing section with other accommodation students of the same grade and subject based on your specific needs.
  2. Administrators can Create a dedicated Testing Section as follows:
    1. Open the Testing Dashboard
    2. Locate the Student(s) requiring accommodations
    3. Click 'Remove' for each Student to remove them from the Testing Section
    4. Return to the Testing Sections List, click on '+New'
    5. Enter the details for the section - Section Name, Grade Level, Asssessment(s) assigned, Proctor
    6. 'Save and Close'
    7. Select the Testing Dashboard for this accommodation section
    8. Click the '+Add Student' button
    9. In the pop-up window, select the Student and 'Save and Close' if complete or 'Save and Add More' if needing to add more Students
    10. When finished adding Students, the Proctor can administer the section with the selected subject assessments as needed.

Academic Testing

  1. ARK Academics provides audio support on specific Reading assessments in Kindergarten and 1st grade.
  2. ARK Academics testing sections for Grades K and 1 will automatically-enable so students have the audio option. Proctors should be aware and ensure these students have proper personal listening devices before testing.
  3. By design, any question that does not have an audio option is using language and words a student at that grade level should understand. Reading these questions aloud is not permitted.
  4. For students with documented Learning Plans, Teachers may read questions aloud for those students. Thus establishing a dedicated testing section to run at an alternate time is suggested.

Theology Testing

  1. ARK Religion provides audio support on all assessments in 2nd through 6th grades.
  2. After opening their Testing Section, each Proctor will have an "Enable Audio" button for these grade. Activating the audio will enable audio for all questions and answers for all students in the testing section. Proctors should ensure students have proper personal listening devices before testing.
  3. For grade 8 and higher, if a student has a documented Learning Plan, Teachers may read questions aloud for those students. Thus establishing a dedicated testing section to run at an alternate time is suggested.
