Q. How do my students login/begin testing?
A. Please refer to the following help article for a detailed explanation on how to help your students login and begin testing
Q. My students can’t start their test, what do I do?
A. Please ensure the following
1) You have pressed the ‘Open Login’ button to allow the students to log on
2) All the students have the proper logins and have logged in successfully
3) You have pressed the ‘Begin Test’ button
If all of the above is true and you are still having difficulty with getting students to begin their test, please contact the help desk
4) Is your Testing Window open? Click on Testing Sections > Three dot menu > View > Home to view the Testing Window dates for your center.
Q. Why can’t my students login?
A. Please ensure that you have pressed the ‘Open Login’ button to allow students to log on. Then, please try restarting their computer and having them login from an incognito window. If you continue to have difficulties after that, please contact the help desk.
Q. Can I get paper tests for my school? How do paper tests work?
A. Yes absolutely! There will be an additional cost to administer the test on paper to defray the cost of shipping and scoring the paper results. Additionally, the testing window is shorter for paper tests. Please contact us to discuss logistics and administration differences from the digital-only approach.
Q. How do I enable the text-to-speech function?
A. For grades 2-6, there is a new "Enable Audio" button on the Proctor's Testing Section Dashboard after "Open Login" has been pressed. This enables an audio player for every student in the section.
Alternatively, All computers should have some sort of built-in read-to-me function and when that is enabled, there are shortcut keys to activate the reading function. If you look at the bottom of the proctor guide, we list the instructions for different devices (last page, bright red box). The issue is that chromebooks really do not do this well; it is cumbersome and the voice isn't great either.
If this is needed and if chromebooks are what is used, the best recommendation that we have is that the proctor can read the questions aloud to the students. The Theology questions are in the same order, but most of the answers are presented in a random order to prevent cheating. So the proctor would need to be careful with how they read out the answers to guide the students so that the reading aloud doesn't give away the answer, nor does it confuse those with different answer order
Students are receiving a "Page Unresponsive Error" what can I do?
Disable or Remove Extensions
Since Incognito mode typically prevents extensions from running (unless explicitly allowed), one or more installed extensions might be causing the unresponsive page. Try disabling all extensions on a test device and reload the page to see if it helps.
Check Chrome Policies / Admin Console Settings
If these are managed Chromebooks, there could be a policy in place that interferes with the site’s resources. In the Google Admin console, review any content filtering, JavaScript blocking, or security policies set on the organizational unit (OU) for those devices.
Clear Browsing Data (Cache & Cookies)
Accumulated browsing data sometimes leads to unusual behavior. Clearing cache and cookies often helps eliminate stale resources or partial updates that might be causing the site to hang.
Test on an Updated Chrome OS
Make sure the Chromebooks are running the latest version of Chrome OS. Occasionally, known browser or OS bugs are patched in newer versions.
Look at the Console Logs for Errors
If possible, open the DevTools (Ctrl + Shift + I) and look at the Console tab or the Network tab when the page starts becoming unresponsive. This can reveal which resource or script is failing or stuck.
Reset Chrome Settings (if viable)
If everything else fails, resetting Chrome settings on a test device can help. This reverts many browser configurations to their defaults, which might eliminate any unusual or hidden configuration issue.
Because incognito mode works, the issue is likely something local to each user profile (extension, cache, or policy). Walking through the above steps—especially temporarily turning off extensions and reviewing policies—tends to isolate the culprit pretty quickly. If you find that a specific Chrome extension or a particular policy is at fault, adjusting or removing it should fix the unresponsiveness in the normal browser session.
Q. How do I test my absent students?
A. If students were absent the day of testing, PAUSE the Section when present students are complete. You can "resume" the section whenever your absent students are ready to test! Then, once all your students have completed the test, you can "Close" the test which submits the answers for all students.
Q. How do I close the teacher test?
A. The Teacher Test does not need to be closed like the students tests do! They remain open until the national testing window closes. At that time, they will automatically close.
Q. When will results be available?
A. Theology results typically become available about 1-2 weeks after the national testing window closes. It is possible that your school may receive some raw data before that, but it is not guaranteed.
